Home Remedies for Sinusitis

The sinusitis or sinus infection is the inflammation or swelling of nasal passages and sinuses, which affects millions of individuals across the world. The common symptoms of sinus infection are pressure in eyes, nose, cheeks and headache. Other symptoms include fever, cough, bad breath, nasal congestion along with nasal secretions. Sinus pain is of various types. Tooth ache, headache, pain in eye brows are the common pains which are associated with sinusitis.

Majority of the individuals look for useful and effective home remedies to cure sinus pain. The natural treatments or home remedies are effective and simple and save us from the harmful side effects which different medications and antibiotics carry. Acute sinusitis generally gets better with natural remedies and without any antibiotics and medical treatment. • You can also use saline nasal sprays in order to decongest the nose. Also, you can make the spray on your own by mixing water and salt and spray the mixture in the nose for easy breathing. However, make sure that you do not use them for a long time as these can worsen the nasal congestion.
• Besides, it is very important to keep your body hydrated. For this, take sufficient fluids such as fresh juices, green tea, soups, broth to alleviate sinusitis pain.
• Take hot showers so that the hot water treats sinus areas on your face. This significantly helps to soothe the pressure and pain. This even helps in loosening mucus and relieves sinus pain.
• You can also take decongestants, analgesics and antihistamines to get relief from the sinus pain.
• Once the mucus drains, you get quick relief from the sinus pain so try having jalapeno pepper or some other spicy food which contains hot peppers in order to drain the mucus.
The above mentioned home remedies provide relief from sinus pain however if symptoms get worse or persist for more than ten days then there must be any underlying problem. Also, at times acute sinusitis can turn into sub acute or chronic sinusitis thus it is very important to take correct and effective sinus treatment in order to get rid of the symptoms.
